After all our work and testing our trebuchet decided to do the opposite it was doing during our testing. We were accurately shooting 15′ during testing, landing in the 1′ marker, and during competition we were lucky to get 10′. Either way, congratulations to the winners of each competition.
We began assembling our trebuchet today. We have yet to run into any problems, although some are sure to come. Our time is ticking away as we scurry to finish our build.
So after a few days of research we began to brainstorm and slowly we had quite the piece of work in mind. We started out sketching, and move into AutoCAD where we put down our final design. Also, while searching through the woods one day we came across a smaller than average baseball bat. So, we changed up our design a little bit to incorporate the bat into our trebuchet.
The beginnings of a work of art
We began our research by doing a few Google searches, just to see what exactly we’re getting ourselves into. Low and behold we came across a few results that were quite useful in helping us design our trebuchets. We found a few tips that would prove quite useful to us when it came the time to begin designing/constructing our trebuchet. This week we’ll also beginning gathering up materials needed to construct our masterpiece.
