Chi Final Day a.k.a Competition Day

Its competition day for the Chi team.  This is the distance part of the competition and we are putting the sling back on after the first throw it flew off.  Other then that we pretty good in the distance competition we got over 25ft. but the accuarcy wasn’t too good.  Btw our trebuchet name was Jingles because it made jingling sound after every throw due to the counterweights.

Final Competition for Sigma

After all our work and testing our trebuchet decided to do the opposite it was doing during our testing.  We were accurately shooting 15′ during testing, landing in the 1′ marker, and during competition we were lucky to get 10′.  Either way, congratulations to the winners of each competition.

Lambda Puting the Trebuchet to the Test

After all of our hard work we got our chance to use our trebuchet.  In the distance competition we threw the projectile over 23 feet, but sadly did not place in the top three.  On the otherhand in the accuracy competition we beasted and place first with our projectile landing just 13 inches from the desired target.

Lambda with a jaw dropping performance

Kappa team is testing their work

Matt is ready to shoot

The kappa team is testing their trebuchet to see how the accuracy and distance is. In distance they shoot atleast 25 ft and in accuracy around 13-14ft but the target is about 15ft away. we lightened the throwing arm so it will thorw farther than it did when we started.

Collecting Data

Launching the trebuchet

In this part of the project we are collecting data.  This follows behind the step of building the trebuchet.  This means we have to launch the object several times, to see how we need to adjust everything to win the competition.  while collecting the data we have noticed all the adjustments you have to do when you build something, to have it working at its peak.
